Marina d’Arechi at Boot Düsseldorf 2020

The curtain is down on Boot Düsseldorf 2020, the most important nautical and watersports expo in Europe (18-26 January), first official stop on the Marina d’Arechi, international tour. Our team, participating for the fifth time, is promoting not only one of the most important leisure boating and tourism hubs in Italy, but, as the only port from the Campania region present, also takes on the role of ambassador for the many attractions in the area on the international market. The 2020 edition, which the organisers themselves have acknowledged as being the most successful to date, presents impressive statistics: 230,000 m2, 1,900 exhibitors, 18 pavilions, 250,000 visitors. The Marina D’Arechi stand enjoyed a great deal of success and was able to attract seafarers and hobbyists from all corners of the globe, a platform that grows more every year. 150 expressions of interest for berths at the Marina, for various periods, split by country as follows: 40% Germany, 14% France, 13% United Kingdom, 12% Italy, 11% Austria, 10% ROW. We continue focusing on medium to large vessels: 18% up to12 m, 40% from 12 to15 m, 22% from15 to 18 m and 20% greater than 20 m.

“The promotional activity fielded by Marina d’Arechi – explains President Agostino Gallozzi – is one of the key tools used to raise awareness of our facility on the extra-regional market, a market which makes up about 50% of our client base. We are, as a matter of fact, ever more convinced of the need to be fully operational on an international scale not only to promote our facility but to contribute as a whole to Salerno and Campania as a whole, adding more value every year, and ensuring incoming nautical tourism to the area around the Marina”.

It is worth highlighting that Marina d’Arechi is now a nautical hub, providing employment for 320 people and the tens of businesses of which the supply chain is composed, all of this in a decidedly strategic sector for the development of Southern Italy.

“We have successfully shown our international client base – concludes Gallozzi – that Marina d’Arechi is not only an excellent facility for leisure boating, one that is comfortable and safe all year round, but is a kind of “village”, complete with many free-time activities and plenty of entertainment. These are also available, from next summer, to visitors from the city”.

Boot Düsseldorf 2020 was also the perfect occasion to present sector players, many of whom have already confirmed their presence, with the IV edition of the Salerno Boat Show, the nautical expo organised by Marina d’Arechi from 3-11 October 2020, as a celebration of the sea open to all who are passionate about it.

*After participating in the Düsseldorf show, the Salerno tourist port is preparing for the 47th edition of Nautic Sud in Naples, from 8th to 16th February. Successively, we will be present at YARE, a B2B event dedicated to refits and aftersales in the megayacht sector, this year in Viareggio, from 18th to 20th March. After these Spring engagements, we will also participate in the Cannes Yachting Festival, from 8th to 12th September.
